Architectural projections
Building projections and 3D video-mapping combine high-powered projection with the magic of optical illusion. A projection mapping show is a spectacular live experience projected directly onto architecture offering fantastic viral potential and a high share-ability factor.
Content includes, graphics and photographic images, video and CGI animation and is usual supported with audio, either precorded, live or both. Interactive elements can also be integrated into the user experience whether these public or private events.
Christmas Mapping at Palais Campofranco 2021
Sissi's Gingko Tree 1889
Luce Dipinta presented a projection mapping for the first time on a facade within the Palais Campofranco in Bolzano.
The emblem of the Palace is its monumental ginkgo biloba tree, situated in the center of the piazza, a gift for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, more commonly known as Princess Sissi, from her uncle Heinrich.
A Christmas projection to coincide with the Christmas Market from 25/11/2021 until 06/01/2022 Running from 18:00 and every hour until 22:00. Final show at 22:20.
La Leggenda di Bartolomeo e del Campanile
Luce Dipinta presented a new mapping projection to support a performance held in the piazza of Vadena. It was an event produced by the cultural association Lasecondaluna with Barbara Brugnara. The Legend of Bartolomeo and the Bell Towers, as told by Sergio Camin, was illustrated by Alex Rowbotham and all the music was written and performed live by Gregor Marini.
Video Mapping at Borgo di Rango Christmas Market 2019
Luce Dipinta presented a new architectural mapping projection for the Christmas Market in Rango, close to Lake Garda. This is the first time a projection is being used in this popular ancient village. The passing of the centuries has not affected its precious historical and architectural heritage, with its old houses attached to each other, connected by porticoes, bridges and courtyards. A living testimony of a past populated by shepherds, flocks and travelers, who usually stayed here and rested.
Using the flavour of Christmas mixed with emotive sound, and a touch of the village heart and soul, this large-scale projection provided a unique atmosphere for over 120,000 visitors.
30 years of Sanct Valentin
Co-operative wine producer St.Michael-Eppan celebrated 110 years in 2017 with a few days of activities including a public video mapping event projecting directly on to the original cantina building, which in itself was 109 years old. Using big sound and a fireworks finale, this show formed part of the larger overall event. The 'story' of this presentation takes the viewer on a short journey through the history, to some of the 30+ countries where the wines are exported to, the many awards and recognition, with a special addition celebration of 30 years of making the Sanct Valentin line of wine, by this South Tyrolean cooperative wine producer.
2019 Lana Sterntaler Christmas market mapping projection
Luce Dipinta presented a new show for the 2019 Sterntaler Christmas market in Lana, Italy. As in previous years these evenings are ticketless events and form a part of the town's overall atmosphere of the seasonal celebrations.
This year the Sterntaler Christmas market moved to the the picturesque setting of the historic Capuchin Garden, which provided a much cosier atmosphere, free of traffic and ambient light and noise. Using a much larger facade this year, the health centre building, religious theme was balanced with a hint of sparkle and fairy dust.
"The spectacular light show by artist Alex Rowbotham conveys a unique Christmas mood when he immerses the building facade of the medical centre in local images and animations directly within the Capuchin Garden and accompanies it with touching music."
2016 Christmas with TechnoAlpin
Luce Dipinta worked alongside TechnoAlpin to realise large-scale projections for a public Christmas message on their Bolzano headquarters. TechnoAlpin is a world leader in snow making technology, their products and services can be seen at ski resorts around the globe, therefore their choice of content was obvious - snowflakes.
A huge tower had to be constructed to contain all the projection equipment at a height to avoid obstructions and creating shadows. The event kicked off on 1st December and ran each night until 2nd January 2017.
2015 Lana Christmas mapping projection
Luce Dipinta presented a new show for the 2015 Christmas market event in Lana, Italy. As in previous years these evenings are ticketless events, free of charge, and form a part of the town's overall atmosphere of these seasonal celebrations.
This year the 'illusion' includes parts aimed more at families with small children, and in fact includes two little ones, 'acting' within the surrounding images. Want to be involved in the next one? Blue Night in Schlanders
"Blaue Einkaufsnacht" event in Silandro/Schlanders 10/07/2015. Hundreds of people spent the warm evening enjoying a summer festive atmoshere, late-night shopping until midnight. Highlighted with a large scale building projection in the main square which began at 22:00 as soon as it was dark enough.
Luce Dipinta had approximately 3 weeks to create this presentation, images of the town, it's people and environs used were provided by the municipality of Silandro/Schlanders and from the archives of Gianni Bodini and Alex Rowbotham.
Corking countdown to 2015
Composer Timothy Hubler performed live during the whole evening on piano, leading up to and including the presentation and countdown to 2015 projected on the facade above the Oberwirt restaurant in Griesplatz, Lana.
A looping projection with a 3 hour countdown clock began at 21:00, this included logos from the sponsors plus information about when to arrive for the show and to enjoy a glass or two of bubbly from 23:30. The final presentation began a few minutes before midnight, the New Year arrived with images of Lana followed by a journey through the time zones beginning with Samoa and ending with Hawaii.
Twelve nights of Christmas 2014
Repeated from 2013 with an extra four evenings, an updated festive holiday atmosphere in Griesplatz, the central historical square of Lana. Presented throughout twelve evenings in November and December 2014. A Luce Dipinta architectural projection using religious images and icons from the cultural surroundings and churches of Lana, including many frescoes and paintings, mixed with choral music and song.
Running in parallel with the Christmas market and late-night shopping, a celebration of a christian Christmas, a warm atmosphere repeated every half hour throughout each evening.
Griesplatz Lana - Christmas 2013
A festive holiday atmosphere in Griesplatz the central historical square of Lana. Presented throughout the evenings of each weekend in December 2013, a Luce Dipinta production of an architectural projection using religious images and icons taken mainly from the cultural surroundings and churches of Lana, including many frescoes and paintings, mixed with choral music and song.
Running in parallel with the Christmas market and late-night shopping, a celebration of a christian Christmas, a warm atmosphere repeated throughout each evening.
Organised by the market town of Lana and the tourist office.
Griesplatz Lana - Gala Apple
In 2013 as part of the Langer Donnerstag in Lana (which takes place each Thursday evening throughout the summer months of July and August), Luce Dipinta presented for Ferragosto (15.08.2013), large-scale projections directly onto a building in Griesplatz, the space above the Oberwirt restaurant. Repeated (with some additions) on the evening of 17th August, it was a show celebrating the Gala apple and marked the traditional start of harvesting in the region. This apple variety is the first to be ready and Lana has one of the highest production.
The show has since been repeated during the 2015 edition of the Lana Lights projection festival.
